Pye Motors was founded in 1925 by William Pye, a trained engineer from Barrow Shipyards, who established the first workshop in Lancaster. Over the decades, the company evolved from a small repair business to a leading Ford main dealer, expanding across Cumbria and North Lancashire. During World War II, the business pivoted to engine production for military aircraft, earning William an MBE for his contributions. In 1970, Pye Motors became a Ford specialist, later diversifying into new brands like Omoda, Jaecoo, and Chery.Today, it remains family-owned, employing 140 staff across four dealerships, a bodyshop, and a fuel station. The company prides itself on customer-centric values, combining heritage with modern technology. It offers new and used vehicles, MOTs, servicing, van hire, and Motability schemes. Young man on reception EXCELLENT. The Scottish lady chewing gum, no customer service skills, aggressive and downright rude, not a great advert for Ford or Pye Motors, they won't be servicing my car.

Reception staff were rude. We were Told The issue with car was because we had overfilled oil. We have never put oil in, always been serviced by pyes. Then they tell us we are riding the clutch. But they did not find a fault. Supported and Purchased cars from them and had all services done for last 30 years. Never get my families business again now. Disappointed to say the least.
